METALLICA a donné un concert privé à Park City hier soir pour la soirée du film "The Darwin Awards" dans le cadre Sundance Film Festival."The Darwin Awards" est une comédie dans laquelle on retrouve Joseph Fiennes et Winona Ryder ainsi qu’une apparition de METALLICA justement. L’équipe de tournage s’étant en effet rendu à Salt Lake City le 22 novembre 2004 pour enregistrer une scène du film pendant un concert des Four Horsemen. Le double DVD "A Sound Relief" de THE GATHERING sortira en Europe à la mi octobre sur le propre label du groupe, Psychonaut Records. Le premier dvd qui contient le concert donné au Paradiso le 23 mai dernier à Amsterdam va bénéficier d'une piste audio en DTS 5.1. Le deuxième DVD comportera un documentaire sur les 15 ans du groupe, une interview, les coulisses de la tournée 2004 et six clips en images de synthèse. Roadrunner Records est sur le point de sortir un album étonnant pour célébrer le 25ème anniversaire du label. Le groupe s’appelle Roadrunner United et l’album est intitulé The All-Star Sessions. Cet album, qui sortira le 10 octobre prochain, est un véritable tour de force dans le hard rock/metal pouvant se vanter de la présence de 57 artistes de 45 groupes passés et présents de l’histoire de Roadrunner, l’album sera composé de morceaux originaux, collaborations inédites entre de nombreuses stars du label.
Quatre musiciens principaux ont été choisis pour produire et composer les morceaux. Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory/Brujeria), Robert Flynn (Machine Head) et Matthew Heafy (Trivium).
Pour ajouter à tout cela, il y aura également des titres bonus d’un ancien artiste du label, Josh Silver, le producteur/claviériste de Type O Negative. Pour rester dans l’esprit du projet, Josh a inclus des artistes Roadrunner sur ses titres … dont Mikael Akerfeldt d’Opeth qui apparaît sur le titre “Roads.”
