You're pretty unknown here in france for the moment! Could introduce yourself to your future french audience?
Hey everyone, we're Destiny from Germany. Sebastian plays guitar, Jim plays drums, Sascha plays bass and Johannes is the singer in Destiny.
The band was founded in the end of 1997. The current line-up exists since May 2001. Our first full length called ''Diving Into Eternity' came out in January 2002 on Beniihana Records and was re-released in September 2003. In summer 2002 we got signed with Lifeforce Records and in March of this year our Lifeforce debut ''The Tracy Chapter'' came out. Since the band's existing we did several tours through europe.

You have just released a few months ago, your new album, "The Tracy capter". How is the feedback? How are you considered in your own country (Germany).
The feedback is very good. Almost every received review was positive and that´s quite a nice feeling. We are really satisfied with the album and it seems that the people are also.

To your mind, what are the main differences between this new record and your previous ones? Your sound is great and powerful, what would you say about the production in Danemark with Tue Madsen?
First of all. Thanks for your opinion. I think the new album sounds very modern and more professionell. "Diving Into Eternity" doesn´t sound that tight and huge. Our financial possibilities were not that big in that time. The Lifeforce-Deal was a big help for the sound. To the music? To my opinion on "The Tracy Chapter" there are less metal- but some new influences. The songs are arranged better.
Tue Madsen…what can I say? He´s great! That was the best time we had so far, while recording an album. He is such an awesome guy, who always tries to get the best out of you, without pushin´ to hard. Tue also tries to capture the feeling you had, while you wrote that special song you´re playing. He is a nice producer in a nice studio.

Personnaly, how would you label your music? What are your principal influences?
It´s hard to give your music a name. Magazines or E-Zines often compare us with bands like Poison The Well, Shai Hulud, Killswitch Engage or the Deftones. I would say, that we do new-school hardcore with a catchy aggressive and emotional note.
We all listen to different styles of music, so our music is the result of combining all these influences. It´s kind of hard to say, who inspired which song, but there are some musicians which you can definitely hear in our newest work.

Are you touring a lot? Any anedoctes or highlights?
What would you call a lot? We did several tours through Europe. This year we toured in the UK and in August we will tour with Caliban in Europe. There are also other tours in the planning stage, but nothing´s sure yet. All the other shows are on weekends besides working and studying.
Every tour is a highlight. Since my time in Destiny I´ve seen such a lot of different cities and countries, I would never have been able to visit without the band. I´m sharing my time with my best friends and I´m visiting the world, just because of our music.

What's your point of view about the german metal scene?
I think Germany is a good place for hardcore or metal. The scene is getting bigger and more open-minded. There are bad things about the scene, as every scene has it´s problems, but I really like the shows and the people in Germany.

Is there a lyrics concept or a kind of story hidden behind the title "The Tracy Chapters"?
The lyrics deal with personal feelings and experiences. They are all about a period of life and the titel reflects this period. So the album has a certain concept. It´s all about ending a chapter of life. We tried to combine the lyrics, the music and the artwork. Just listen to the album, read the lyrics and look at the artwork. Maybe then you will understand the cover art and the meaning of "The Tracy Chapter".

What are your plans in the near future?
We will play a lot of shows and festivals in the coming weeks and months and as I said before, we will do a European-Tour together with Caliban. We are looking forward to this year and we are very excited about it.

What is in your cd player this last month?
A lot! ;-) But I think most of the time:
In Flames - Soundtrack To Your Escape
Deftones - self-titled
Soulfly - Prophecy
Slipknot - Vol. 3
Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache
Heaven Shall Burn - Antigone
Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come
The (International) Noise Conspiracy - A New Morning, Changing Weather
The Lost Patrol - Songs About Running Away
