I love that record. I very rarely listen to my own songs. It has some moments on it that show how young we were, but it has an incredible energy.

Playing some remarkable shows, from squatted venues to massive festival crowds. Playing with some incredible bands and making friends who I still have now. Like the first time we played glastonbury, I got quite drunk and with a friend from another band and went around wearing an american military police helmet, denouncing most of the other bands as being shitty. We felt it was our duty. That's something I wouldn't feel the need to do now.

There were essentially two reasons. Musical and emotional.
If you listen to the Lodestar album and "Asylum" it's clear that there is a great difference in direction.
So musically we had to develop these other directions. We could have done this at the same time as keeping the band together, but then you have the second reason, which is that we had been in each others close company for about five years and our friendships were becoming in danger.
What we really needed was a year long break, but it didn't seem possible at that time.

Thanks for that. I appreciate it.
What do I think of the disc now? Again I love it, but i rarely listen to my own music. For me, this was the beginning of an exploration of something that i m very much involved in right now. I will explain this later.

To be honest, for me it was frustration with Jules' guitar style. It was extremely precise and technical, but I felt it was too cold for what i was trying to achieve. the fact that he went on to join KMFDM {which very much suited his style} was precisely why I couldn't work with it.
My influences for that band were more like sabbath, diamanda galas/john paul jones ,gunshot etc...
There were a few final ideas recorded but nothing that will be released. That said, we have not ruled out the possibility of doing more as the other three of us work together all the time.

That was a great gig. An out door show by a lake. It felt very comfortable to be playing together again, though we were a little out of practice....

You must understand that it has been a very different process of writing/recording/producing music than we, or any other band I know has tried.
we had no record company. So we recorded the whole thing ourselves gradually and for practically no cost. On computers, in peoples houses ,in practice rooms. A lot of material was rejected or saved. Also we are now a long way into writing the next album now, and our intention is to bring that out at the same time next year.
So hopefully you will not have to wait again.

This one has really already really been answered,we are well into writing the next album and we foresee continuing as long as the group has more to say musically socially etc.

I don't really know. Possibly there are some similarities. More singing and harmonies. Obviously your styles develop and you draw on your experience.

Composition starts with a sketch which can come from any individual member or combination of members. We then each apply ourselves to this sketch ,possibly play the idea as a group to develop it. then record the parts.
On this album it was done separately ,in layers and almost entirely at our houses. FOR FREE!
Finally Hagos mixes the songs at his studio at home. This can be seen on his website www.offalproductions.com - this is an indication that record companies are slowly becoming less necessary and should be regarded as banks by the artists who use them.

The subjects on an entire album of this type are too numerous to discuss and there is no single message that we are trying get across.
There are some themes that stand out. The body is a crucible for the soul. The senses are the valves between the inner world and the outer world. the health evolution of these worlds are inextricably linked. Blind faith in leaders is not patriotism. Think for yourself.

The British prime minister has crushed the hopes of many people for a compassionate left wing government ..
He has left the people of Britain with some very difficult clearing up to do. He is obsessed with his own position in the history books, though
sadly he will be remembered for helping to orchestrate one of the most obviously unnecessary conflicts of our time.
The mental health of both himself and George Bush Jr. is questionable.
The war in Iraq was just another episode in the brutal treatment of one of the most remarkable peoples in the middle east. The sooner he is removed the better.

Ii (Heitham) have some. The most important being Entronaut. This is as important to me as Senser. This is a group which is exploring more and more extreme music. Inspired by Melvins, Sunn, Sleep, Swans, and all truly heavy bands, we have played a few shows.
We have just got new management and are planning to tour soon. I also made an album of Victorian inspired hip hop music with The Guild of Initiates.
I have collaborated with a few musicians: Fleapit, Natasha Atlas New Kingdom.
Johnny works with Wake, Cinder and was part of Moke and Lodestar ..
Kerstin has a writing project called Cub.
Andy is a hip hop DJ in various clubs.
Nick teaches guitar.

I love France. I moved here for personal reasons and I love the life here. Paris is beautiful and I like the fact that you have a strong culture of
protest. It is also easy for me to get back to London to work on my music.

Definately.hopefully later this year. we will go where we are wanted.

It seems like a contradiction as the word solution implies peace. Very rarely is violence a solution in my experience. But sometimes it is necessary to use force.
