Vancouver's monochrome glam punks, THE BLACK HALOS released their 3rd Cd "Alive Without Control" produced by Jack Endino (Nirvana,
Soundgarden) for Liquor and Poker/ Century Media .
The album was written and recorded shortly after the bands Can/Am
tour last November '04 with new guitarist Adam Becvare and Bassist
Denyss McKnight.
10 Feb 2005-
"Just finished a new Black Halos album for Century Media, and I can
say that the Halos are definitely back! (And in black, of course...)
This is no mere "reunion" record, believe me. It's the real deal. The
band is possibly better, and has better players, than the "old" band,
not to mention a more relaxed and pleasant personal chemistry among
the members. I really enjoyed this one, my third for the band and
probably the best."

The Black Halos have been touted as "rock 'n roll's bridge between
punk, metal and even goth. Lead singer Billy Hopeless is snottier
than the Dead Boys and sassier than the NY Dolls, while the band are
hard and hungry like the Guns n Rose's appetite."
Due to stints on the Warped Tour years ago, the Halos "monochrome
unrecovering goth" fashion has been imitated and adopted by such acts
as Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte.
The Black Halos parted ways in late 2001 after 2 cds and chronic
dilemma with then label SubPop. They have since recruited long time
friend and Chicagoan, Adam Becvare to write and release their first
cd in 4 years, "Alive Without Control."
Becvare had fronted the 2003 Lords of the New Church reformation with
founders Brian James (the Damned) and Dave Tregunna (Sham 69)
In place of the late punk great, Stiv Bators.
Soon, The Black Halos return to the road for the "Summer of Rock
Tour" with Century Media labelmates Brand New Sin and immediately
after with Die Hunns for coast to coast to coast touring.
How's that for bridging Metal and Punk??
