Allez, je vous mets le long communiqué larmoyant, pour les braves...
Returning from Japan marks the end of Zyklon’s touring activities for “Disintegrate”. Japan is always an awesome experience. We had amazing crowds, hospitality and, of course, lots of sake. Looking back on the general touring activities for “Disintegrate”, we’ve seen many of the same clubs and people, but also some new places and a lot of new faces, which has been great. We made it back to the states, even if only for a one-off festival, we played the Roskilde festival, which was really cool opportunity for an extreme metal band like Zyklon, and we did a bunch of other European festivals, some smaller tours, etc. It’s been a good run, and a particularly interesting one as Trym, Secthdamon and myself have also done a bunch of big Emperor shows during the same timeline. There have been both pros and cons to that situation, but all in all it’s been very cool.
As for future plans, I guess one could say that it’s a bit “up in the air” at the moment. Looking back there have been ups and downs during the years with Zyklon. We’re not always an easy band to manage, as all members live in different cities and have multiple commitments on different fronts, thus it’s often hard for all the logistic and practical things to work. This situation has especially come more into focus in the last year or so, where it has become harder and harder to get the band together when needed, with the spirit and excitement that one expects from a band like this. Basically, I don’t feel that we as a band have the fire needed to start working on a new album right now. Therefore Zyklon are taking a break. This is a good time for us to do so. We have completed a good run of shows around the world for our latest album; we have completed all our contractual obligations with Candlelight Records (with success I must add, as Candlelight have treated us well, cheers mates!).
Also, the ‘terror-twins’, Destructhor and Secthdamon, have plans to go for it with Myrkskog, and will hopefully finally take the actions needed to complete their new, long-delayed, album. I truly hope they will, because this is the time to do it and I know the fans have been waiting for years, and judging from the pre-production material I have heard, it will be massive statement of intricate and brutal death metal. Trym is also working on a new album with his other band, Paganize, at the moment.
Personally, I have a bunch of material written and will keep on working on that over the winter, and basically take it from there. What the future will bring I cannot say at this point. All I know is that we’re all active musicians and have no intentions what so ever to stop our mission of METAL!!!
On other fronts, there are plans for an official Emperor DVD release. There’s a lot of cool material to be reviewed, mixed and edited. There are also things happening on my label, Nocturnal Art, this fall with new releases from Manngard, In Battle and Limbonic Art. Make sure you log into the official Nocturnal Art, Zyklon and Emperor Myspace profiles for updates.

bonne nouvelle d'un coté, cela permet d'avoir enfin le nouvel album de myrkskog et plus tard un album de zyklon avec des musiciens motivés!

Ces temps ci, pas mal de rêves deviennent réalité : Brutal Truth & Cynic font de nouveaux albums, At The Gates & Carcass font quelques shows... Manque plus que la reformation de Bungle et un nouvel album d'Emperor avec tout le monde qui participe (pas juste Ihsahn qui commence à gonfler tout le monde, suffit d'écouter Hardingrock...), et là je pourrai mourir vraiment heureux... Héhéhé

bonne nouvelle. le 1er zyklon etait formidable, ses sucesseur sont bien produits et bien exécutés mais dispensables. bref j'attend plus grand chose de zyklon.
en esperant des bonus conséquents sur le futur DVD d'emperor.

J'aurais trop peur d'être déçu par une reformation d'Emperor. Quoi qu'il fassent, les musiciens ont trop évoluer pour nous resservir du Black Sympho de la qualité d'Anthem. Y'a un moment où il faut savoir tourner la page, et préserver le mythe... Enfin, c'est mon avis...

Les 3 albums de ZYKLON sont des modèles de Metal Extreme futuriste, de vrais petits chefs d'oeuvre.
Content que ce break se fasse car les ayant vu cet été il était clair qu'ils en avaient besoin: 2/3 énormes pains, chaque musicien jouait dans son coin, chanteur un peu blasé et Trym en petite forme.
Maintentant EN AVANT MYRKSKOG!!

Dommage pour Zyklon, ayant aimé leurs trois albums, j'en espérais un nouveau d'ici peu de temps mais ce ne sera pas le cas, enfin leur décision est tout a fait honorable, je préfère qu'ils fassent un break plutôt qu'ils nous ressortent du repompé sans âme !

J'ai été moins convaincu par le dernier Zyklon. Mais c'est un très bon groupe.
Je suis de l'avis général. Autant qu'ils se ressourcent un peu et que leurs projets avancent.

Perso je suis très loin d'être d'accord avec Alain ;).
Le premier Zyklon est une bombe de death/black industriel, le second est déjà un gros cran en dessous je trouve.
En ce qui concerne Disintegrate, pour moi c'est un disque très fade, peu inspiré.
Enfin je ne l'aime pas beaucoup quoi.
Mais ce qui trouuue les fesses c'est un nouveau Myrskog putain ! PUTAIN !

@ Peleaub: Ce sont tes goûts. Les 2 derniers sont plus posés, matures et efficaces. Le Disintegrate nécessite cependant plusieurs écoutes.

Le fait que cet aspect black se retrouve réduit à peau de chagrin me plaît moins.

Effectivement, plutôt que de pondre un Zyklon au rabais à la va-vite, je suis preneur pour un Myrkskog bien saignant! J'aime les 2 formations mais commençais réellement à désespérer concernant Myrkskog. "Superior massacre" était bien puissant, tant sur cd que sur scène. La suite...!!! je veux mon coup de trique!!!
Quand au DVD d'Emperor, j'espère que Samoth nous aura fait un pti clin d'oeil pluvieux/boueux tiré du Hellfest au moins en bonus...ah ah

De retour des derniers concerts japonais de la tournée "Disintegrate", Samoth annonce dans un long communiqué que ZYKLON fait un break. Eloignés les uns des autres, les musiciens ont perdu la flamme ces derniers temps et vont tous être très occupés avec leurs projets respectifs. Donc, Destructhor et Secthdamon vont aller s'occuper du prochain MYRKSKOG que plus personne n'espère, Trym va aller composer avec son autre groupe PAGANIZE et Samoth va préparer l'arrivée du prochain DVD d'EMPEROR. Apparemment pas mal de matériel a besoin d'être visionné et remixé. Miam. Et le bonhomme ne cache pas qu'il a aussi du matos musical sous le pied. Wait and see... (Prince de Lu)
