ANDREW W.K. - Party Safari - The Movie

Hit The Floor Magazine & Dead Good Films Like Productions vont présenter le film ANDREW W.K.

(VsGreg)

About Andrew W.K

Andrew W.K, is a cult figure in the rock scene and through partying, positivity and love for his fans has become well known as one of the nicest guys in the industry. Known best for his hit songs Party Hard and We Want Fun, Andrew has also hosted his own MTV ‘agony aunt’ style TV show ‘Your Friend Andrew W.K.’, presented a children’s TV game show ‘Destroy, Build, Destroy’, held motivational positive-thinking seminars and is currently working on his first book entitled, ‘The Party Bible’.

Where the vast majority sees Andrew as the happy-go-lucky rock star, behind the scenes, Andrew’s career has been shrouded by mystery and controversy.

At an Andrew W.K. show in New Jersey in December, 2004 fans were outraged and confused when they claimed the “Andrew W.K.” on stage that night was not Andrew but an imposter, causing a flood of calls to the show’s radio sponsor, WSOU, asking what had happened and questioning if it was actually him.

In January 2005, Andrew’s official website was hacked, and a number of new sites appeared, with cryptic, coded messages claiming that Andrew was not who he seemed and in fact a manufactured creation. These messages were signed by the name of Steev Mike whose name is listed as the executive producer on a number of Andrew’s past releases.

“You know how much I believe in you and all that you stand for, because I stood for it first. You know how much I love your music, because I created it. You know that I love the way you look and act and talk and sing and dance because it was born in my brain.” - Steev Mike

Soon after this Andrew seemed to disappear for a while then re-appearing as a whole new thinner and cleaner Andrew springing back the rumors that he was not the same person but a double and fueling the fire of the messages of Steev Mike. Taking time away from touring and music Andrew went into motivational speaking and during a an appearance at the club, Madame JoJo’s, in London he announced to the audience -

“I’m I’m not the same guy that you may have seen from the I Get Wet album. I’m not that same person, and I just don’t mean that in a philosophical or conceptual way. It’s not the same person at all. Do I look the same as that person?”

Soon after this he then denied this claim and even now, he has never really laid down on record what exactly happened and so the rumors live on.

Is Andrew W.K who he says he is? Who is Steev Mike? Is Andrew Steev Mike? Is Andrew just playing one big joke on us all? I guess there’s only one way to find out…let’s go to the zoo!
