Avec la sortie printanière de " Gormageddon ", il me semblait impardonnable de ne pas donner la parole à Sven, le charismatique chanteur d’ABORTED. Bien qu’il soit flamant le français de Sven est excellent mais comme ce bon à rien est plus à l’aise dans la langue de Shakespeare, j’ai du me plier à ses exigences de rock star (lol).

Tonton: Let's start this interview with several question about the last album. "Goremageddon" is not now for several month. you get some great reviews all over the world. Do you think you have reach a new step in your carreer or do you think your label managers have sent a lot of money to get all these cools feedback ?
Svendometrium: actually we think the 'sexual harassment' tour we sent our drummer out on has had its effects, he is known to be quite big, ify ou know what i mean. Furthermore i heard the certain 'latex pants' look we have on our website released some positive reactions from 'in the closet' crowds, if you know what i mean. Anyways, we're extremely positively surprised by the killer feedback we have been getting with the album and are very gratefull to eveyrone who has supported aborted till this day. so like, stop putting that money away, you fucking french dipshit!

Tonton :I don’t know why you have this big support ‘cause they are bands which deserve this more than you do… Anyway, the fact is, your drummer didn’t have the opportunity to play on this last release. I can imagine it was very frustrating for the band to deal with that… How did you get in touch with this crazy fucker called Dirk ?
Svendometrium: i know, we just get this support because we're so handsome, and off course, not french, haha. Yea, it was quite shitty for Frank he couldn't make the recordings cause of our gigging schedule he couldn't do the recordings. We got in touch with Dirk after we had some luxurous times on one of the Listenable gang bang fests and we hit it off real fast, he's so gentle & funny.
Basicly we knew him from his work on scarve and i knew him cause i did the layout ont he scarve album, it all started from there, working with Dirk was both an honour & pleasure.

Tonton: I've noticed a different way to compose between "Engeneering the dead" and the last album ? You guys sound more raw than on your previous release ? And the CARCASS influences seems more present ? Is that a natural process of evolution or wat ? Explain me that... if you can.
Svendometrium: well, basicly we changed alot since engineering, and consciously. We didn't see the point of rewriting the same album, and we wanted to do something we always wanted but Niek wasn't open for, so with the new line up, we had the perfect break of doing so it was quite a risk we took since it is very different from engineering (yet you hear its still the same band i think) and we didn't know if the crowd would take it, goremageddon is basicly an album we wrote for ourselves

Tonton : Do you think you could go back to the early ABORTED style for the next album or do you think you have find your real indentity with Goremageddon ?
Svendometrium: i think we have found a direction to work in for sure, there is no telling what the next album will be, we just started messing with some ideas, all i can tell you is that its going to be extreme as hell, and catchy & diverse

Tonton : It seems CARCASS has actually a huge influence on the actual scene. Especialy in USA. I think about IMPALED, THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER and most of the Razorback records catalog (hey Jill !!!). It seems you’ve been contaminated by this fever. In your opinion what’s the reason for this CARCASS revival. Why did it take so long time before people notice CARCASS were the best ?
Svendometrium: because people are stupid, obviously, and i think we always have had carcass influences in our music, maybe not as apparent as ont he latest release and as on the bands you mentioned, but it was allways there, just in a lesser extent. But i agree with you to a certain point that alot of bands seem to be doing it lately, most of them taking bits from the 'symphonies' era though.

Tonton: Do you think Fre has bring something in the new ABORTED (except a lot of tattoos). it seems he didn't compose that much for Goremageddon ?
Svendometrium: Frederic is the bassplayer, and bassplayers are known to be lazy, haha, but seriously, Fré wrote one song for Goremageddon, and its the first time in history that an aborted bassplayer wrote a song!
He also brought in alot of ideas and is working on a new song right now as well

Tonton : Well the fact is you had some help during the writing process. Leon Del Muerte from MURDER CONSTRUCT took a part to compose a "real shitty" song. Can you explain me how did it happened ?
Svendometrium: well, basicly, we all know this guy has some really bad issues when it comes to poo. And it takes one to know one, so we joined forces to write the lyrics for clinical colostomy, you can imagine alot of brown love and dookies surprise came out of this cooperation and you can practicly smell the gay ass san fransiscan scent off the song, now if thats not quality brand, i dunno what is

Tonton: well i've got a surprise for you your friend Leon have a couple of question he wanted to ask you but never did

Tonton: here’s the first one : what it's like to work lyrically with a god among men like Leon del Muerte ?
Tonton: and the second : which is your favorite: Bud Lite or Coors?
Svendometrium: it feels pretty much like holding a plate up to your ass, being affraid of you know... he's from san fransisco my favorite is vodka red bull, that beer shit is overrated… ha ha ha

On the back cover of the package of Goremageddon I've noticed a list of famous serial killer's name. Is that your idea or one of the label ? It reminds me the MACABRE's concept and by the way what do you think of this band ?
Svendometrium: well, everything that is packaging and concept is from our hands directly. Yes i know macabre and i like them alot, but i wouldn't compare their approach to lyrics or their music to aborted in any way. I'm very curious to hear their new album by the way

Tonton : Well believe me it kills !!! Don’t get it wrong I don’t think MACABRE is part of ABORTED’s influences. MACABRE music is too technical for you… he he he
Svendometrium: yeah, that's true, anything past first grade competence is way out of our reach
Usually we make up songs of just picking chords from the alphabet. We barely manage, but it works

Tonton: ha ha ha. Let's talk about the video you did. Are you happy with this result ? Maybe it's the first time an extreme band isn't that ridiculous on vidéo. That's unexpecting don't you think ?
Svendometrium: yea i mean, i know we're handsome and extremely stupid, so it had to come out reallly ridiculousn, but for some reason, the guy who shot the video did it really good even a bunch of lowlife inbreds like us couldn't mess it up; i mean, trust me WE DID TRY HARD ENOUGH... but ah well, blame it on the dutch!
And yeah, we're extremely happy with the result, seeing the budget that got into it & the finalized result, ti's pretty much above our expectations for sure

Tonton : Did you use some stuff of your real work for the video ? I’ve heard you’re working as an animal butt-wiper of a university ? Can you explain us how disgusting is your work and what kindda pleasure you can find in this job ?
Svendometrium: actually, i can't see how web designer can be mistaken for ass wiper, even for a dumbshit old french fart like yourself... I know you look and smell like some overweighted american hot ass, but at least i'd have given you a little more credit. Yes the whole video was actually shot at my work, and this is no joke, haha! And wiping butts is not as bad as you make it look, i swear, really!!!

VS : Some people use to say heavyest bands are also the angryest ? Is that true for Aborted ? The fact music is turning more and more brutal, does it mean this anger is growing ?
Svendometrium: The anger is most definately growing, from various things basicly, you know music is the perfect outlet of anger for alot of people its not different for aborted... All the shit you got going on in your daily life or whatever, you get to release on stage and in your music, and personally i think it helps alot of people to stay sane hahaha. And keep in mind, satisfaction is the death of desire.

VS : Brilliant…!!! Seems you’ve open one book at least this year… Or maybe you fall asleep on a dictionnary and learn new words… Anyway tell us about the other bands you’re trying to play with…
Svendometrium: well, trying is the keyword here, as you must have guessed. I also play drums in the grindcore bad LENG TCH'E which has 2 albums out on the spew records (italy) in europe and willowtip in the us ((Link: http://lengtche.deathmetal.be ) hopefully we can bring some carnage to france soon! And finally i also do vocals in IN-QUest which will be recording a new album this september, you can put in quest as a somewhat modern mix of meshuggah, brutal death metal and killswitch engage, in flames, arch enemy, darkane, chimaira, fear factory.
