DESTRÖYER 666 a écrit :In 23 years Destroyer 666 has never left a tour.
It was not an easy decision to make, but we unanimously decided that we couldn’t continue.
We apologize to anyone that has been disappointed by this, and many will complain at the loss of their 20€, but please be aware that we have personally sacrificed thousands of Euro’s each by making this stand, not to mention thousands in incurred debt.
Ultimately our sense of values and self respect can not be compromised for any price.
So please spare us your 20 buck spin.
This was first and foremost about our own standards and self respect, but we are also acutely aware of the standards and expectations we have earned among our long term supporters over the many years of the bands existence.
The conditions we were met with when joining the tour would have greatly compromised both.
We felt embarrassed to have to perform under these conditions and subject the fans to a sub-standard show.
No one wins in this situation, except the 'music industry' schemers.
After over 2 decades of active dedication to the Metal scene we refuse to accept being treated in such a un professional way by Flaming Arts Touring Agency. No communication, total lack of respect, no effort made at co-operation to resolve the issue.
There were many issues in fact, but I think we're all too old for an online list of personal attacks, grievances and recriminations.
That said, we were prepared go let everything else slide if just one issue was resolved and we were prepared to accept a resolution that only included half of the remaining shows.
We received no response at all from any party with the ability to solve the issue.
We stuck it out for 5 days - awaiting a response.
So that was that.
It would have been an injustice to the fans and ourselves to carry on under these circumstances.
Its become clear over the years no one expects Destroyer to compromise on certain things.
This is just one more situation when push comes to shove, they can shove their money up their arse.
Thus have we returned home, in debt and broke perhaps, but pride and principles intact and I trust the understanding of those know us personally and those who have even the slightest understanding of the life we live and breathe through the band.
And it must be said, this has brought the band closer together than ever before, to close ranks, stand shoulder to shoulder for what you as a pack believe in, against great personal expense and effort, well ,such things are priceless.
We thank our fans and supporters who do understand us in advance and send our thanks and respect to NervoChaos for the attitude and camaraderie and to Enthroned for the friendly violence.
Wasn't all a waste hey fellas?
We now have a mini album to finish work on,and a US tour to prepare for.
No Surrender
